Corrosion of titanium alloys in pressurised water at 300 °C: Kinetics and modelling

چکیده

• The nanoscale TiO 2 layer was covered by anatase and ilmenite crystallites. thin evolution modelled a Loriers-Haycock model. Titanium precipitation ratii were defined measured. A phenomenological model proposed to link mass variation corrosion rate. Corrosion rates of all studied materials stand between 6.6 μm/year at 300 °C. titanium alloys in primary water °C led global weight gain due oxidation surface precipitation, despite some dissolution. proposed, taking into account the contribution each oxide type with exposure time. Based on this model, GD-OES results, rate ranging μm.year -1 for tested estimated. Due simultaneous used stainless steel reactors, protective finally precipitated samples.

In vitro corrosion behaviour of titanium alloys without vanadium

The corrosion behaviour of three new non-toxic titanium alloys for use as biomaterials has been investigated. The corrosion current densities of these Ti alloys have low values, indicating a passive state that is stable with time. These values were calculated by using both direct and alternate current methods. The comparison with Ti–6Al–4V, widely used as biomaterial, shows slightly lower corro...

Corrosion behavior of pure titanium and titanium alloys in fluoride-containing solutions.

The effects of fluoride concentrations and pH on the corrosion behavior of pure titanium, Ti-6Al-4V, Ti-6Al-7Nb alloys and a new Ti alloy adding palladium, which is expected to promote a repassivation of Ti were examined by anodic polarization and corrosion potential measurements. The amount of dissolved Ti was analyzed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy. The surface of the specime...

Nickel-Titanium Alloys: Corrosion “Proof” Alloys for Space Bearing, Components and Mechanism Applications

An intermetallic nickel-titanium alloy, 60NiTi (60wt%Ni, 40wt%Ti), is shown to be a promising candidate tribological material for space mechanisms. 60NiTi offers a broad combination of physical properties that make it unique among bearing materials. 60NiTi is hard, electrically conductive, highly corrosion resistant, readily machined prior to final heat treatment, and is non-magnetic. Despite i...

Stomatološke nadoknade ostaju u ustima dug vremenski pe...

Corrosion behavior of pure titanium and titanium alloys in various concentrations of Acidulated Phosphate Fluoride (APF) solutions.

The corrosion behaviors of Ti, Ti-6Al-7Nb and Ti-6Al-4V alloys, and an experimentally produced Ti-0.5Pt alloy in 0.05% to 2.0% concentrations of Acidulated Phosphate Fluoride (APF) solutions (corresponding to 226 to 9,050 ppm fluoride at pH 3.5 or 3.6) were examined. While the corrosion of Ti, Ti-6Al-7Nb and Ti-6Al-4V alloys might occur easily even in a diluted 0.05% APF solution, dissolution o...
